Life

There are times I really hate my life and right now is one of them.  For the past few days I haven't been able to get 2 minutes peace unless it's in my sleep.  If I'm on the computer it's "What are you doing?" or "Why does your screen  look like that and not mine when I play that game?" or something else like that.  If she's on the computer it's "How do I do this?"  "I can't do this."  "The computer won't do this."  Driving she's telling me how to drive.  I know it's her car, but let me drive, I know what I'm doing.  Cripes I'm even being bugged in the bathroom.

She was even melting down in glass class because I decided to make my version of something she did last week.  Apparently I'm outdoing her.  I don't say anything though when she does her version of what I've done.

Just a few minutes ago I'm on the phone and she's telling me to leave a phone number (which I was trying to get to).  Then tell them it's very important (which would be next).  She could have done it herself if she kept the phone herself.  I dialed the phone and gave it to her.  She asked me what we wanted (even though it was her idea to call) and I told her whatever.  She is trying to decide whether or not to go to a luncheon tomorrow.  If we don't go to the luncheon we'd be going to the capitol to do visibility regarding a hearing on consolidating several state agencies which we're against.  We'd testify if we had ink in the printer.  It doesn't matter to me which we go to right now.  I just want some PEACE & QUIET.

New Thing #2

New Thing #2:  Carbon Monoxide Scare

This was quite accidental and the whole story is in this entry, but basically I have never dealt with a Carbon Monoxide (CO) scare.  I know that it is odorless, tasteless, colorless, and deadly.  I know that the winter months can be very dangerous for CO poisoning, but I have never dealt with it beyond the basics.  Monday morning I learned first hand though about what happens when 1 apartment in your building has a CO problem.  I know we're all very lucky that it was caught early and that the levels didn't get to high.

What a Morning

For those that don't know me I am a night person.  Hence my not getting up at 7 or 8 in the morning very easily.  Also, I sleep soundly.  With that said let me get going about this morning.

I'm sound asleep and hear knocking (pounding) on the door.  Like usual I incorporate it into a dream.  Since the sound persists and it's winter (another story) I eventually hear it and say to myself that whoever is knocking at this hour of morning they can go fly a kite.  I know it's not time to get up as my alarm hasn't gone off yet so it's too early to deal with anyone at the door. At least that's my line of groggy thought.

As whoever is at the door keeps knocking they then yell "Fire Department!"  Well, that woke me right up.  I have no clue what is going on, but the smoke detector isn't going off.  I make my way to the door in my nightshirt and open it to find some fire men at my door.  I can tell you though that I was grouchy, scared, and confused.  That's when I find out that they need to come in and check our apartment out because there was a Carbon Monoxide problem next door.  They're asking if I'm experiencing any symptoms.  Now, my roommate went to bed last night not feeling good so they want me to wake her up.  Now the phone starts to ring.  It was our neighbor to let us know we need to let the Fire Department in.

Turns out all is okay in our place.  I called the neighbor back to apologize for any shortness and find out that they had to get out.  I told them they could bring their pets and themselves over.  They had to go to the ER, but brought the dog over.  Turns out that they were okay.  Whew.  Evidently something was wrong with the furnace.

All has calmed down now, but what a scare, and what a morning.

Christmas

What a holiday!  It was 3 days long for me.  Christmas Eve at my Dad's, Christmas at home with Robbyn and then at my Mom's and the day after at a friend's.  At my Dad's I was also with my Step-Mom and Step-Sister.  We opened our stuff and we all liked what we got.  I got my loom stand so now it will be easier for me to weave.  That was awesome.  It was also nice and easy to assemble.

Christmas morning was spent with my roommate and the kitties.  Robbyn liked everything I gave her.  I liked what she gave me.  She even surprised me with a glass grinder.  It'll be so much easier to do stained glass here at home now.  Also, we can grind our fused glass pieces here at home then take them in to be fired.  Now to get a Kiln.  That afternoon we went to my Mom's.  It was a houseful with the 2 of us, my Mom, Step-Dad, Grandparents, 2 cousins, Aunt & Uncle.  We all had a blast like usual when we all get together.  Everyone liked what they got again.  The highlight of my day there was the trunk my Step-Dad made me.  It's not here at home yet as it didn't fit in the car, but it'll be here in about a week.  I also got an ergonomic crochet hook.  Now I can start to crochet.  I've tried to crochet and have had no luck at all.  I tried one of these ergonomic ones out about a month ago and loved it.  I was actually able to make a chain that you were able to get the hook back into.  Today I grabbed a book and started to teach myself.  I'm crocheting rather tight  right now, but may end up loosening up as time goes on.  I did the same with my knitting.  I even started a Granny Square.

Today we  (Robbyn and I) also went to our friends house where we were given more presents.  I was given such a cute alarm clock, gift card, and more things.  I got a crochet book with the gift card already and not the one previously mentioned.

Overall It was a great holiday and had a great time with family and friends.  Now to rest, relax, recover, and get creating for next year.   Oh and all the birthdays in between.  Happy New Year everyone

What a week

It's been one of those weeks I'll tell you. Between rescheduling the Self injury Awareness Day Informational Fair (SIAD), doing a new website for SIAD, cancelling this months board meeting, finding out one friend might be dying of chirrosis of the liver and another having a 90% of cancer I don't know which end is up.

The one that might be dying of chirrosis is an alcoholic and was just/is in the hospital for internal bleeding. The friend that might have cancer had a biopsy yesterday and we're waiting for the results now. This one is a good friend of mine and I'm really scared for her. At least tomorrow's saturday so I can get together with my knitting group.
